Unreal Engine 4 Developer
CMD:Studio is looking to add another exceptional person to our team. If you want to be part of a creative team that values your opinion, insight and expertise, then this is the perfect role for you. The work will be primarily focused on the technical development of an exciting new project!
This role is freelance, full-time, 100% remote, but you need to be in or near the UK (GMT) time zone. We are looking for minimum mid-level (1-2 years) experience and the initial contract is for 3 months work but can be extended.
Responsibilities
Develop systems and features in Unreal Engine 4 according to the design requirements (not limited to UI, game flow, menus, collision and physics, character, controller support, settings, save/load, etc)
Create tools and debug programs that will aid in debugging and creating game content easily
Be in charge of performance optimization, profiling, and identifying issues with implementation
Overall bug fixing and code refactoring
Be in charge of creating builds, supporting launches and game updates, achievement implementation, statistics/analytics, and localization
Implement plugins and SDKs and integrate with our game systems
Work with specific platform and storefront tech requirements and implement necessary solutions (Steam, Epic, Switch, etc)
Communicate and inform the team about ideal tech solutions and best practices
Essential
A degree in Computer Science (or related discipline / equivalent experience)
Fluent in C++ or similar low-level programming language
Demonstrable experience of Unreal Engine 4 and Blueprints
Excellent knowledge of software tools such as Perforce and Visual Studio or equivalent
General knowledge of ports on PC or console
Desirable
Previous experience with shipped games is a bonus for either PC or console
Knowledge of 3D graphics rendering
Familiarity with Agile development processes
Interest in horror games
An understanding of the game development process within the scope of an indie studio
